I received the article below yesterday in an email from a good friend of mine who’s family makes their living in the cattle business. They are the salt of the earth, like most ag families are, and their commitment to promoting agriculture, especially to our youth, is to be commended.

This morning I saw something really beautiful. Most mornings the sunrise captures my interest and I am awed by the beauty outside my front door, but this morning? Pretty darned spectacular. Two things were working against me, though. Actually there were three things: the changing, rapid sunrise; the moving cattle; and my inexperience with [...] Well the weekend started off a little… well, testy. I admit to being the guilty party but it was just something I couldn’t control. See, I was tired. It was Friday afternoon and I was whipped from the whole week. I was looking forward to a quiet weekend at home, catching up on laundry, dishes, bills, [...] After spending the last three days on a whirlwind trip throughout all of Louisiana, I am home. And tired. And uncomfortable. When your legs are as long as mine, to be folded into a pretzel in the backseat of a truck, three days in a row, a girl will get a little fiesty. I’m sore. [...] |
